Mourinho’s hug for Shaw
After so many months, Luke Shaw returned to play from the early minutes for Manchester United. Shaw’s appearance ended with a hug from Jose Mourinho.
Shaw fill the starting XI of the Red Devils in a 1-0 win when entertaining Bournemouth on Thursday (14/12/2017) early morning hrs. 22-year-old defender was escorting the left side of Manchester United’s defense for 83 minutes before being replaced by Ashley Young.
In the last seven months it was the first time Shaw appeared from the early minutes in a Premier League game. Performance was fairly disappointing.
According to BBC records, throughout the game Shaw contributed three tackles and was able to win six times back from an opposing player. He was pulled out after experiencing cramps.
Shaw left the field with a crowd of audience applause at Old Trafford. On the edge of the field Mourinho also welcomed the player with a hug. After the match, Mourinho complete with the words enhancer motivation.
“I would not say whether he is first choice or second choice, Shaw is an option,” Mourinho said as quoted by the BBC.
“His history contains tremendous injuries and further operations at the end of last season and he needs competitive matches, we have given him that and he has cramps so he has to replace it.”
“I am happy to hear the applause from the audience for him, it gives encouragement to the players concerned,” he said.
